Heather Cadeddu (née Manson)

Mrs. Heather Cadeddu (née Manson) passed away peacefully at the Maison au Diapason in Bromont, QC on July 27th, 2023.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, Italo Cadeddu, she is survived by her son John (Wendy Duke), her daughter Margaret (Danny Rossi), her seven grandchildren Maximilian, Drake, Jasmine, Theodore, Martina, Benjamin & Timothy.

She is also survived by relatives (Duke family) and friends in Quebec, Ontario (Rossi family), as well as extended family in Sardinia including her brother-in-law Arnaldo Cadeddu and wife Beatrice, five nephews and their loved ones, and many dear friends in Milano, Perugia and Cagliari.

Born May 1st, 1937 in Victoria, BC, Heather was the only child to Herbert and Margaret Manson. Raised on Vancouver Island, Heather moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, where she developed a life-long affection for their college football team, the Washington Huskies. After graduating from university, Heather joined her parents overseas in Italy. During her university years, her parents - both educators - moved to Europe to set up and run schools for children of NATO personnel serving on NATO bases in Western Europe. Heather joined them while they worked in Italy, where she too started teaching. While in Italy, she met Italo and they were married in March 1966. They moved, along with their baby John, to Montreal in time for Expo '67. Margaret was born in Montreal in 1968 and the family eventually moved to the Eastern Townships of Quebec in 1969. Life in the Townships allowed Heather to raise a strong family and enjoy her love of sketching, painting and ceramics. Those years flew by with activites ranging from the Waterloo Ladies Bowling League, the Townshippers Association and countless music and theatre events dotted across the Towships. Once the children grew up, Heather looked forward to their visits, especially when they brought her grandchildren to visit!

Heather's family wishes to express their gratitude: To all the Staff at the CLSC for their assistance and support to Mme Manson over many years, especially Mme J. Gouin. To the same staff, to Dr Nicolas and colleagues, Mme Nathalie Munger and colleagues, and the several teams of Auxiliaires for their priceless help in the last 12 months. To all the personnel, and the bénévoles, at the Maison au Diapason for their dedication, compassion, and excellent care.
